Day After Super Santa Run

Saturday evening at 5,  "more than 500 Santas ditched the sleigh and reindeer to run along a five-kilometre route, showing their Christmas spirit and raising money for charity.

The streets of Amherstburg flooded with a red and white tide during the 5th annual Super Santa Run. This was the first time the race was held before the Amherstburg River Lights Festival opening ceremonies."

That is what was written for the daily newspaper which will appear Monday morning.  I was among those santas.

There I am, number 75.  Right then I was wishing we could start.  Standing around waiting is NOT fun.

My husband was there with my camera.  I like taking pictures but it is hard to do when one is walking and doesn't want to slow down.  He was following us on his bicycle.  Because we wear our numbers on the front, he had trouble keeping track of where I was.

Some of his pictures are blurry but he was trying.

I'm glad he took a picture of the timing because I cannot find my name on the list of finishers.  I am disappointed because I wanted to compare my official time with my last walk in September.  I am improving because in September my time was 52:38.  My next event will be the Ugly Sweater Run on December 29.
