I just re-read my January entry. So much has happened since then.
Daughter made plans for the two of us to fly home to Nova Scotia on May 5. We were planning to spend a week and then fly back to Ontario on May 12. Because of the virus, the flight dates were changed to May 3 and May 10. Yesterday I found out the flight was canceled.
Husband and I spend a wonderful week in Jamaica. I was my first time to see Jamaica but he had been there when his navy ship stopped back in the '60s. I loved our accommodations and enjoyed the people. The weather was ideal. The worst part was the flights. The plane to Jamaica was late and it was crowded. We had more room on our return a week later but that plane was also late leaving Montego Bay.
Himself had an appointment with a liver specialist in London in February. The appointment was the reason we made the trip to Jamaica. The appointment went well. His numbers are returning to normal and he doesn't have to go back until next year.
And then we started to hear about the deaths in China. I don't remember the exact date but sometime last month Canada started quarantining and self-isolating. Seniors are advised to stay home. That's us. I am an introvert. Staying home is not a problem for me. It has always been my preference anyway. Himself needs people. He plays darts 3 times a week and he enjoys meeting up with his biker buddies.
I am grateful we had our trip to Jamaica before all the doubt about whether to go or not was a good idea. I am grateful his appointment in London was over before all the precautionary masks and other protocols.
