Simple Ways to Make Every Day Count

1.  Count Your Blessings

People who jot down things they are grateful for throughout the day experience more happiness.

2.  Live in the Moment

Studies show that practicing mindfulness, or focusing on the present moment, reduces loneliness and anxiety while improving memory.  As you experience a special moment, focus on what you feel, see and hear, letting any distracting thoughts pass like clouds in the sky.

3.  Reframe Your Fears

The physical reaction to feeling afraid is the same as if we're excited, so reframing our thoughts can turn fear into motivation.  To do:  Write out a fear, like being lonely, followed by a positive affirmation, like, "I don't have to be alone."
