My latest re-start is not going as well as I had hoped when I started. I am tracking but I am not seeing the progress I was hoping for. I will continue on and hope something positive happens soon.
Sunday afternoon we visited John R. Park Homestead http://erca.org/conservation-areas-events/conservation-areas/john-r-park-homestead/ for the Maple Syrup Festival.
This is a picture from the website. Yesterday was sunny but it was much colder than in the above picture. To the right of the homestead, is where there was a lady with a big pot over an open fire, boiling the sap to make syrup.
We went inside the house. I took a picture of a quilt in one of the bedrooms. As a beginning quilter, I wondered when it was made and by whom. It would have been sewed by hand whereas I use my machine.
I did not take as many pictures as I usually do. What DID catch my eye was the natural sculptures created by the water splashing up over the weeds and trees at the edge of Lake Erie.
This one is created by the waves coming over the breakwall and covering the blades of grass.
A view of the house from the 'grass sculpture'.
It was cold. We didn't wander the grounds like we usually do. We did purchase some maple syrup as we were leaving.
