One of my reasons for starting this blog was to see if it would be helpful in my plan to lose weight. Others have cited their blogs as helpful. In order for my blog to be helpful to me, I will have to make sure I write more often than I have been.
This morning was my TOPS meeting. My weight has not changed. A couple of my friends were offering suggestions to help me. K. suggested that I change my walking pace. She said that perhaps I could speed up for a minute or two and then walk at my normal pace for awhile before speeding up again. Since one of my long-term goals is to try running, this sounds like a good approach.
Someone else suggested I might not be getting enough fat. I have been trying not to add fat (butter) to my meals. If it is already there, I don't worry about it but I do not add it to my toast or potatoes or whatever. She said that maybe I could 'up' my calories for a day or two to see if it would shock my metabolism.
I have been logging my food on http://sparkpeople.com/ but this week I plan to write everything down in my notebook to show my friends to see if they can see what I am missing.
I know that I need more exercise. I will continue to work at small changes. Tonight after supper, I took the dogs for a walk around the block. Sure, it wasn't far enough or long enough but I did walk and my journey has to start somewhere. (This is a picture K. took when she had the dogs at her place last summer.) They will be happy if I walk with them every evening after supper.

Hi. My husband asked where, (roughly), the banner photo was taken. We were briefly in Canada last year when we joined the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship's Outreach Cruise to Alaska. The nearest I am abe to get to Conference at TACF. We crossed from US near Abbottsford and returned via Peace Arch. We are hoping to return for a much longer visit in a few years. There are so many woderful things to do and see.
ReplyDeleteIt was in southern Ontario. I was on the back of my husband's motorcycle. We were on our way to visit our daughter near London, ON. I really like the picture for many reasons.
