August 1-7

Last Monday was a civic holiday which meant it was a long weekend for many in Canada. Of course, as my husband says, when you are retired, every weekend is a long weekend.
Tuesday was my regular morning at Hospice. It was a quiet morning which is not a bad thing.
In the evening, I joined the walking group on the Greenway. Some of the walkers were in the Tuesday morning group I belonged to before I started to volunteer. We walked for an hour. It was nice to have company for a change.
Wednesday morning I usually join the ladies to sew teddy bears and small quilts for Hospice. That particular morning, I was too tired to leave home. I texted one of the ladies to let them know. Since we are waiting for the appointment for Himself, any time I don't show up where I am expected to be, people start to wonder if we are in London. I managed to finish the quilt I was working on at home.
Thursday, my friend and I went to Walmart in Amherstburg and then we had lunch together. In the afternoon, Himself and I had an appointment with a diabetes nurse. We are still working out what he can and should be eating. It was a good appointment.
Friday night we went to a movie, 'Jason Bourne'. It is not my type of movie but Himself enjoyed it.
On Saturday we met our friends for our weekly breakfast.
This is what we saw in front of Jack Miner's.
We stopped at a Farmers' Market on our way home and got some corn, strawberries, blueberries and a jar of homemade relish. We have had a couple tomatoes, cucumbers, and swiss chard from my garden.
Today we rode to Erieau for lunch.
It was a nice day for a ride.

Still no news from London. Himself is feeling well so the urgency is not as 'urgent' as it was before. It is just that we cannot make plans. Our anniversary is coming up on the 27th and we would like to do something special since it is a special year for us but we will work it out when we can.
