Happy Anniversary

I would like to blog more often but usually I don't have much to say. I enjoy reading others' blogs. There is so much shared wisdom. I am thankful for the regular contributors.
Today I do have something to share. My husband and I are celebrating 51 years of marriage. This is a picture I shared on Facebook this morning.
Remember when they used to have photo booths in malls? Himself and I stopped many years ago and this is one from that little strip we got. I look at it and wonder who those kids are.
Fifty-one years. Did we do something special to celebrate? Not really. Himself was on a motorcycle ride for much of the day, helping raise funds for the Downtown Mission. I enjoyed a quiet day which included a nap. For supper, we ordered Chinese and ate at home.
Actually we have never been big on celebrations. We have enjoyed reading the good wishes from friends on Facebook. I guess that replaces the cards that used to come by mail.
Naturally I have spent a lot of time reminiscing. Our best man and his wife are both gone now. We lost track of our bridesmaid. We were married in Nova Scotia and now live in Ontario.
We have two sons and a daughter. They are each happily married and we have five grandchildren. Our oldest granddaughter got married in June.
September 6 will be the anniversary of hubby's surgery to get his new aortic valve. He is doing well. The surgery was successful. I am doing my best to stay healthy. Isn't that why we are here on Spark People?
