We all remember what we were doing on THAT September 11.
Today: 5.49 km

Back on August 24, I signed up for the Maritime Race Weekend AT HOME. Every year when I hear about this race, I consider planning a trip home to Nova Scotia and joining the race. They have a choice of sunset and sunrise 5K's (which would be my choice) and Coastal 10K and Scenic Half Marathon. www.maritimerace

This year is different, as we all know. The race is virtual and free. Of course I signed up. That, of course, is one of the reasons I started to walk again. Yesterday the e-mail from the director encouraged runners and walkers to dress up like a pirate and stump the neighbours. I'm not really sure how a pirate dresses so I just wore my regular clothes and set out. I almost forgot to set 'mapmywalk'. Fortunately, I checked before I had gone too far.
My virtual bib.
This is one of the first things I saw as I was starting out. They probably planned to enter it in the fair and since there was no fair, they decided to make their own display in front of their home. Sixty-nine pounds - I wouldn't want to carry it very far.

I took this picture because I thought the clouds looked interesting.

I had checked on-line before leaving home to know roughly where I was going to complete 5K. This is a road that is called Snake Lane. It is a gravel road that is not too busy. I like to ride my bicycle there too although I haven't done that very often this year.

When I get to the corner, I will turn around and make my return.

A new red barn. It has been here for maybe three years.

Here is a bed and breakfast. From what I have read about it, I would like to visit. They have a curvy lane, so I cannot see it from the road - Cedar Circle Bed & Breakfast & Holistic Retreat.

I think it is interesting how some of the telephone poles continue to grow after they are re-located. Sometimes they are have lots of green vines still growing. This one looks like old growth.

A soybean field. Around here, it seems they grow seed corn or soybeans.

I finished my first 5K of the weekend. It was not a timed event and that is a good thing. I am happy to finish without thinking about time.
