More Vacation

After we visited the blueberry farm with the sunflowers (yesterday's blog), we went to Johnson's Mills, New Brunswick. We hoped to see some sandpipers.
I borrowed this picture from the website.

It was late in the season but we did see some birds take off. It must be quite a sight in the middle of summer when there are large numbers of sandpipers.
We saw some birds leave from here. They take off together and somehow turn at the same time so that you can't even see them at all.

Yesterday I booked my seat on the train for my return to Ontario. I will leave Nova Scotia on September 16 and arrive in Windsor Monday evening. My sister has booked her flight for France in November to visit her younger son and his family. She plans to be there for almost 2 months.

Home Again

I left Ontario on August 29. It was August 30 by the time I got to Nova Scotia. My sister met the train and took me on many wonderful day trips while I was there.
On Sunday my train was scheduled for 4:06 p.m. We went for one last visit to the beach.
The tide was out so we were able to walk along and check for beach glass and shells - one of our favourite things to do.

We enjoyed a picnic lunch
and then it was time to return to the house and finish putting things in my suitcase. My brother and nephew stopped in for good-byes and we headed to Amherst to wait for the train which was right on time for a change.
Monday night, Himself was waiting for me at the station in Windsor. I was tired and happy the trip was over. I had a good time. Except for two days when it got quite cold, the weather was great. The biggest complaint everyone was expressing while I was there was the mosquitoes. They were terrible.
My personal bonus was that I came home a pound lighter than when I left. Having a sister who is following KETO was helpful. Now, I have to prevent that pound from returning and see if I can send some more in the same direction.
One last picture from a different day of adventure.
