Nice Experience

Every week, my friend, Carol, and I go out for lunch. It is usually Thursday or Friday. I couldn't go yesterday so today was the day.
The first restaurant was closed for a winter vacation. We moved on to our second choice. It was quite busy, partly because the first one was closed, I'm sure, since they are just down the road from each other.
The only table available was set up for a group. We got the okay to sit there and ordered our coffee and lunch. Before lunch arrived, a group of men came in. The waitress asked if we could move to a smaller table. No problem since we had already indicated we would be willing to move if necessary.
After we got settled, the owner came around to let everyone know her phone line was down and cash would be needed for payment since debit cards could not be used. My friend was short on cash but I had been to the bank yesterday and was prepared to pay for both of us.
We both enjoyed our lunches. We even shared a dessert. When it was time to leave, I went to pay and we were informed that the men had paid for our lunch since we had been willing to move tables.
It is the first time I have experienced something like that. We were both very pleased and said 'thank you' to the men as we left.
I will be watching for an opportunity to pay it forward.
