Happy Thanksgiving

What a beautiful day it is here in southern Ontario. It is 73*F (and feels like 77*) [I still have trouble thinking in Celsius but it is 23*C and feels like 25*C)]
Thank
We are not cooking a turkey. Our daughter was here on Saturday (minus her husband because he had to work). She came for the Detroit Lions football game Sunday afternoon. She went over with several girlfriends. The Lions won but that is all I can tell you about the game.

Anyway, we had roast chicken for supper on Saturday along with mashed potatoes, squash and broccoli. I didn't make dessert but we were all content after our meal.

Himself and I are getting ready to take a 5-day (4 night) bus trip to Sayre, Pennsylvania. We leave here Wednesday morning and get back to Ontario Sunday about 6 p.m. We will be crossing the border in Niagara Falls. After I got back from Nova Scotia, Himself told me he wanted to go on a little trip. I told him to go ahead. emoticon But he wanted me to come too so I started looking for a short bus trip we could take.

We are supposed to visit the Lackawanna County Coal Mine. We have been in the coal mine in Springhill, Nova Scotia. It will be interesting to see another mine. We will also visit the Electric City Trolley Station and the Steamtown National Historic Site. At some point, we visit the Bradford County Historical Society which is housed in the former jailhouse. They will be serving us lunch in the jail. We will also visit Tioga Downs Casino. On the last day we will enjoy a horse drawn carriage ride guided by an Amish farmer. Let's hope for good weather because it sounds like fun-filled days.

I am thankful for many things but since we are preparing for this trip, I am thankful we have people who are willing to care for our dog and cat while we are away. I am thankful for the big bus that will transport us and thus mean that we don't have to drive ourselves and can sit back and relax. I am thankful for the new friends we will meet along the way. And, I am really thankful we are both healthy enough to enjoy travel together.

Happy Thanksgiving!!
