Chaos

"Just because your world is falling apart doesn't mean you have to fall apart. When everything seems crazy, you be calm. Don't let the outer chaos you are facing get inside of you." - Bryant McGill
No, I am NOT falling apart but reading this quote this morning was a reminder that I can stay calm. While it is not exactly chaos, my husband and I are going through his health challenge right now and I am doing my best to stay on top of things.
Himself had an aortic valve replacement on September 6. He was released from hospital on September 11 and on September 12, after spending the night with our daughter, we returned home. He is feeling well and he is eager to get back to normal. His days have been fairly good but at night, he hasn't been sleeping well. He wakes up in a sweat. Thursday night he could feel his heart was 'fluttering'. We called 911 and the ambulance took him to the hospital. He is being monitored. They told us that the 'flutter' is quite common after heart surgery. They are working on what drugs and dosage to give him. As things were standing when I left the hospital last night, he would be coming home on Sunday.
This morning I woke up to a text that told me the same thing happened again during the night. At least this time he was in the right place. I know he is scared. Frankly, I haven't allowed myself to think. I just carry on. When I asked him what time he wants me to come to the hospital, he replied that he doesn't know what he wants.
