Nova Scotia Vacation

My daughter and I had good flights on Friday. My sister was waiting at the Halifax Airport to pick us up. My daugher's friend, Sue, traveled by bus from Saint John to join us. Then we had to find where Sister had parked her car. (We did eventually find it.)
In Ontario, the temperatures are starting to get warmer as we head toward summer. In Nova Scotia, it is still chilly. We knew we would feel the difference but it has been very hard for us to get warm. Fortunately, Sister has extra sweaters and jackets.
We walked by Pier 21 and I was able to show my daughter where I worked when I lived and worked in Halifax. There have been so many changes since then. Daughter had arranged for us to spend the night in one of Dalhousie University dorms. That was a new experience for all of us but the price was right.
Sunday morning we walked through the Public Gardens, one of the places I wanted to re-visit. It is beautiful there. In the afternoon, we toured an art gallery where there was a Maud Lewis display. I haven't seen the movie yet but they tell me it is very good.
Then it was time to head to River Hebert with a stop in Parrsboro for a bite to eat. Daughter had the seafood chowder she was craving and I had some scallops.
I have many pictures and I would love to share them. Unfortunately, it has been a challenge connecting to the internet. Uploading pictures would take 'forever'.
We are having a good time. Some sun would help a lot.

We are having a good vacation. My little village has shrunk even more. There used to be a Co-op store for groceries. It is closed. They now have to travel approximately 30 minutes to shop.
We have had some good exploratory rides.
This is one of my favourite views. This is what you will see when you drive across the border between New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
We stayed at home on Wednesday. I have been fighting a cold almost since we got here. Yesterday I rested. Unfortunately, in the morning I went outside to take a picture and tripped and fell forward. When I think about it, I realize how fortunate I am. I scraped both hands but I could have broken or sprained something. My camera made it through too but the 'jolt' really shook me up and I spent most of the day resting. Today my neck is sore - probably some whiplash but like I said, it could have been so much worse.
Today it has been raining. Just now it started to pour down. My poor daughter is out on my sister's bicycle. She will be drenched when she gets back.
