Day 20 - 3.5 km

I saw several people out enjoying this beautiful Sunday morning. Many were walking dogs. It is sweater weather and the sun felt good on my back. On the way home there was a good breeze in my face but I was warmed up from walking by then and it was all good.

September total 59.41 km + 3.5 = 62.91 km emoticon

Today, on my Facebook memories, I was reminded that September 20, 2015 was the day that my daughter and I walked a half-marathon in the World Alzheimer's Day Run For Heroes Marathon. I had signed up because I was looking for a significant way to celebrate turning 70 (which I had done in July). Later, my daughter asked if I wanted her to come with me. Of course, I agreed.

Here we are near the beginning. That's me with the pink top next to the man in the lime green shirt checking his watch.

Here we are somewhere in the middle. A friend was taking our picture. I think you can tell I was happy to see her.

This is my favourite picture of all. The same friend was at the finish line. We were the second last pair to finish the half marathon. I almost wish we were last. It was the last year for that particular event. If we had been last, I could say I finished last in the last World Alzheimer's Day Run For Heroes Marathon in Amherstburg.

It was so good to have Kathryn with me. My legs were cramping badly by the end and if I was alone I might have quit. Now when we drive through Amherstburg, I think about how I walked ...there...and there...and there. Well, you get the picture.

This year I turned 75. With all the walking I have been doing, I am trying to think of some way to celebrate that involves walking. I am NOT going on a 75 kilometer hike. It would have to be something over a period of time. It requires more thought.
