A Saturday in June (2013)

Saturday

Saturday, June 01, 2013

One of the difficulties with writing a blog (for me) is coming up with a title. 'Saturday' - how original. emoticon

We woke to another humid day. Daughter left for her tournament. Husband decided he was going to wine and dine me. Often that means a ride to the riverfront to the 'chip wagon'. He usually takes me there once during the summer. I guess summer isn't officially here yet so he still has time. That isn't where he took me this time.

First he drove me past a house for sale in the city. It looked promising if I/we were seriously thinking about moving. I'm not ready.

From there we went to Arby's for a roast beef sandwich (the dining) and then on to Art in the Park. www.artintheparkwindsor.

When you are on the motorcycle it is easier to find parking spots. We were quite close to one of the gates.

There were so many nice displays. It's a good thing I didn't have any money because I would have spent it. I saw several pairs of earrings that I liked and many other things that caught my eye. I chuckled when I read this verse at one of the booths.

After one trip around the park, we left. It was too uncomfortable and crowded to stay, besides he had promised to wine me. Well the wineing was a McDonald's smoothie and later, on our way home, a Tim Horton's ice cap. We definitely supported the fast food industry today.

We rode down Riverside Drive (which follows the Detroit River). I could hear the 'roar' of the Detroit Grand Prix happening across the river in Michigan.
This is one of the fountains in one of the Windsor parks.

(Remember, I am on the back of the motorcycle so I don't have a lot of time to get my pictures properly 'centered'.)

And what is a ride without some clouds...

After we were home, I discovered that the peony at the side of the house is open. Their flowering life is very short and often further shortened by a heavy rain and wind.

And that was Saturday.
