After Northern Ireland (Sept. 2012)

September

Monday, September 03, 2012

It is September. Summer is quickly fading away. It is still hot in southern Ontario but I expect we will be enjoying cooler days soon.

If I was still in school and sharing what I did on my summer vacation, it would be easy this year. At 67 years of age, I finally had an opportunity to see another part of the world, outside North America. It was an incredible 2 weeks and well worth the jet-lag I am still experiencing.

The people from the church in Millisle, Northern Ireland treated our team of 20 people very well. They knew it was the first time for most of us to be visiting their country and they wanted to make sure we saw as much as we could. They fed us well and drove us places.

I have been reviewing my pictures and sharing my experiences with my husband. I am very thankful that I was able to go to such a beautiful country with people I know, love and enjoy. I hope I can do it again someday.

But for now, I must get back on track. September opens up with thoughts of goals almost like January does. I gained about 3 pounds while I was away. I am aware it could have been much more but we did a lot of walking which helped offset gains. I have to decide exactly how I plan to achieve what I want to.

Pictures from Northern Ireland

I have been looking at my pictures, making notes, and re-living my trip of a lifetime.

Views from Scrabo Tower.

That's me on the left. Yes, I did manage to make it to the top of the tower with the others in our group.

We stayed in Belfast for two nights on our way back to Canada. This is a picture taken from my hotel room early one morning. If you look carefully, you can see Scrabo on the skyline.
